AWARD WINNING FILMMAKERS ATTENDING NOISE FLICKS
Nicky Phelan, Director of the 2010 Oscar-nominated animated short 'Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty', and Ken Wardrop, Director of the IFTA award-winning feature documentary 'His and Hers', will be in attendance at the 2nd annual NOISE Flicks Youth Film Festival on the 20th March.
Sheila DeCourcy, Commissioning Editor of Young People’s Programming at RTE, will also join the filmmaking pair at RUA RED, South Dublin Arts Centre.
NOISE Flicks is a youth film festival initiative of South Dublin County Council’s Arts Office that aims to showcase and celebrate the creative talent of young people in South Dublin County whose ages range from 14 to 25. The festival also aims to provide an opportunity for young people to meet and hear from professionals in the filmmaking industry.
Sheila DeCourcy, the Commissioning Editor of Young People's Programming at RTÉ will present the awards to filmmakers selected by NOISE Flicks judges Ken Wardrop, Shane Hogan, and Gerry Gilvary.

RUA RED WINS THREE LAMA AWARDS
We are absolutely delighted to announce that RUA RED picked up 3 Local Authority Members Association (LAMA) Awards at the weekend for, Best Public Building, Best Arts Building & Grand Prix Award. 
RUA RED is a dynamic, vibrant and accessible home for the arts and culture in South Dublin County. The awards are presented as the centre approaches its first birthday later this week. A great asset to the County, RUA RED opened last year following an investment of €10 million in cultural facilities by South Dublin County Council. Mayor Mick Duff said that “RUA RED is a great addition to Tallaght’s emerging cultural quarter hosting diverse, high quality and innovative arts programmes/events aimed at all members of the community, locally, nationally and internationally”.
